Interesting read. Whilst I'm not the traditional target audience for girls school stories, I find them fascinating for social history - including the slang. I prefer the works of Elinor M Brent-Dyer to Angela Brazil, particularly her Chalet School series. I've not read any for a while, so I'm now inspired to go back to them, and watch out for the slang!
